Inspired by the majestic forests of the northern hemisphere, Borealis combines the warmth of wood with the durability of concrete slabs. It is the perfect solution for those seeking to create inviting, cozy spaces but who worry about the ravages of time. This petrified wood will not rot, split, bend, or require any form of maintenance. Borealis is ideal for the harshest of pedestrian spaces, where organic wood would decay or inconvenience, such as in proximity to water or under the unrelenting sun exposure of urban rooftop patios. These planks also provide the designer with a variety of stylistic uses. They can serve to create organic, textured highlights within more sober projects, reference the traditional use of wood within specific contexts (such as boardwalks and nature-oriented projects) or create a rustic ambiance when used to cover large areas. The Borealis slab comes in two formats: 5”x30” and 10”x30”, which can be combined into linear and herringbone patterns. Its format and earth-tones pair well with the largest of the Travertina and Aberdeen slabs for added contrast. This product sports Techo-Bloc’s patented HD2 technology, giving it an ultra-detailed texture, superior strength, and added resistance to stains. The Borealis slab collection is ADA compliant.
