Do Para slabs reduce surface heat in sunny areas?

Yes. Para slabs are available in lighter tones with documented SRI values that reflect heat and help keep outdoor surfaces cooler.

Do Para slabs need to be sealed?

Sealing is optional. It can enhance color and stain resistance but is not required for durability.

How should homeowners clean stains like oil or moss from Para slabs?

Use cleaners recommended in Techo-Bloc’s Care Guide. Avoid acids or wire brushes that may damage the surface.

What maintenance steps should be done each year to extend slab life?

Inspect and refill polymeric sand joints annually. Wash surfaces to remove dirt, weeds, and organic buildup.

How much does a Para slab patio cost?

Pricing depends on square footage, layout, and installation method. For material-only estimates, calculate quantities and send a request to a local Techo-Bloc dealer. For full project costs with labor, contact a Techo-Pro certified contractor.

Are Para slabs slip-resistant and ADA compliant?

Yes. Para slabs meet ANSI A326.3 slip-resistance standards and are safe for patios, walkways, and pool decks.

Are Para slabs eco-friendly or LEED-eligible?

Yes. Para slabs may contribute to LEED credits. Lighter colors with higher SRI can help mitigate heat-island effects.

What warranty is offered on Para slabs?

Techo-Bloc provides a transferable lifetime warranty for residential use covering structural integrity under normal conditions.

What base thickness is recommended for patio applications?

Base thickness depends on soil, load, drainage, and climate.
  • Sandy soils: 4"–6" (increase to 6"–8" for Quebec).
  • Clayey or silty soils: 6"–8" (increase to 10"–14" for Quebec).

Are Para slabs permeable or do they require special installation for drainage?

No. Para slabs are not permeable and use a standard base with conventional joint material. For permeable systems, choose Techo-Bloc’s permeable pavers.

What type of joint sand works best with slab units?

Use polymeric sand. It locks joints, limits weed growth, and reduces washout. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

What edging restraints are recommended?

Install aluminum, steel, or heavy-duty plastic restraints anchored into the compacted base. Poured or precast concrete and retaining walls are also effective. Use restraints around the perimeter and at material transitions.

Can Para slabs be installed on rooftop or balcony pedestals?

Yes. Para slabs in 500×500 mm and 500×750 mm sizes are rated for pedestal systems for pedestrian applications such as rooftop terraces and balconies.

Can slab units be installed over a concrete base?

Yes. Para slabs can be installed over existing concrete using an overlay system. Ensure the concrete is sound, properly prepared, and that drainage is managed to avoid moisture buildup.

What patterns are suggested for Para slab installations?

Modular, herringbone, or linear layouts. These patterns create clean lines and improve alignment and interlock strength.

Minimalist Design, Maximum Impact

Para’s oversized format minimizes visual clutter and creates a sleek, architectural surface. The ultra-smooth HD² finish adds a refined touch, while precision-engineered joints keep transitions nearly invisible.

Modular Sizing, Built for Flexibility

Available in three sizes, each packaged separately, Para gives you full control over layout. Use a single size for clean, uniform grids, or combine all three to create linear, modular, or herringbone patterns without re-cutting on site.

Performance That Holds Up

Para is made from high-density concrete that stands up to freeze-thaw cycles, de-icing salts, and extreme weather. It requires little maintenance and keeps its sharp appearance season after season.
