Quebec City Transformation
Blurring the Line Between What’s Built and What Belongs
Blending Nature and Structure
In the Sillery neighborhood of Quebec City, this backyard is a reminder of what happens when design honors both the homeowner and the landscape. Staying true to their mission of balancing human needs with the natural world, Regard Vert shaped a layout where clean geometry meets organic texture. The result is a space that feels grounded, harmonious, and unmistakably personal.
The Story Behind the Transformation
Before the redesign, the yard already had charm, but the homeowners were craving more. Their wish was simple: a fountain and a quiet corner to breathe. With the lush vegetation already doing half the work, the real goal became creating a space where they could slow down, sink in, and stay connected to the greenery they love.
Regard Vert and designer Aline Graveline took that vision and shaped it into something purposeful. Every area now has intention without losing the softness of the original garden. And at the heart of it all is exactly what the homeowners hoped for: a space that feels grounded, intimate, and just tucked away enough to exhale.
Balancing Intimacy & Function
The challenge was adding everything the homeowners wanted while preserving the yard’s organic feel. Alignment and proportion kept the layout clear, intentional and cohesive. Because the home has a classic, old-English character with rich brown tones, the materials needed to echo that warmth. Westmount pavers in Chestnut Brown were used on the steps and across the patio, creating a soft transition from the house to the garden. The Onyx Black border adds crisp definition without making the space feel heavy. A Limestone cap in Onyx Black was used on the steps to tie the architecture to the cobblestone-like texture of the Westmount pavers, bringing the whole space into harmony.
Products that Brought the Vision to Life
These materials work together to create a layout that feels warm and cohesive. Chestnut Brown Westmount pavers anchor the patio with natural texture. The Onyx Black step cap and matching border add clean definition and give the space a refined finish. The result is a backyard that feels balanced and complete.
