A great backyard should feel like the house kept going. For this family, their mid-century home had clean lines, warm materials, and terrazzo details that set the tone. The backyard needed a complete reset: pool, outdoor kitchen, pergolas, sauna, fire zone, and an outdoor office. Designed and built by Eco Verdure, the result extends the home's identity outdoors.

The story behind the transformation

Inside the home, terrazzo already played an important role in the mid-century modern look. So when the homeowners began rethinking the backyard, terrazzo became the natural bridge between indoors and out.

Techo-Bloc’s Terrazzo collection allowed that same language to continue outside in a way that felt clean, modern, and true to the home’s character. The goal was not to copy the interior. It was to make the backyard feel like it belonged to the same story.

The technical work you don't see

Behind the clean final look was a highly technical build. Drainage was carefully managed around the kitchen and paved areas, and the pergolas, fixed to the building over the paved surface, required a reinforced concrete base to prevent seasonal movement. The kind of work that disappears when done well.

Designed for work, family and hosting

The wish list was long but each element had a purpose. The backyard was organized like a series of outdoor rooms: pool, kitchen, pergolas, fire zone, and a private sauna. At the center of it all, an outdoor office for the homeowner to focus while keeping an eye on the kids.
