Eco Verdure designed a backyard that brings together the styles the homeowners loved: mid-century lines, contemporary structures and a touch of Balinese inspiration, in a way that feels clean and unified. The design comes to life through contrast. Dark and light pavers help define each zone with clarity, while layers of greenery bring a soft sense of cohesion to the whole space.

The homeowners had lived with their yard long enough to know it wasn't living up to its potential. The deep, peanut-shaped pool and aging materials reflected the home's mid-century past, but not the way their family lived today. They wanted a backyard that felt elevated, modern and connected to the interior, especially the terrazzo details in the home that define it's character.
When Techo-Bloc's Terrazzo collection for the outdoors launched, everything clicked. It was the material that could bridge the old and the new and bring the elegance they loved indoors out into the landscape. From there, the vision became clear: a contemporary backyard designed for everyday family life.
Balancing Complexity & Cohesion
The wishlist for this project was ambitious: an outdoor kitchen, bioclimatic pergolas, a fire zone, a sauna, a refreshed pool, a workspace overlooking the kids and open areas to unwind. Combined with mid-century lines, contemporary structures and Balinese-inspired elements, the layout could easily have felt overwhelming. Instead, the team approached the project through controlled contrast. Dark and light stone were used with intention, warm wood softened the harder surfaces and greenery was woven throughout to keep the space from feeling too built. The Sculptura Scalloped Fire Pit anchors the fire zone with a softer, curved shape that balances the clean lines around it. Each area has its purpose without competing for attention, creating a backyard where complexity feels organized and every element fits naturally into the whole.
Products that Brought the Vision to Life
Terrazzo in Meteor Black was used in the kitchen and outdoor dining area, while the poolside is defined with the Greyed Nickel Industria pavers that stays cool underfoot; together, they create a gentle, calming contrast, with the Sculptura Scalloped Fire Pit adding a curved focal point that softens the linear geometry of the paving and brings everything together into a modern, cohesive backyard that feels true to the home’s style.
